There’s a moment in Joshua 5 when Joshua encounters a warrior unlike any he has ever seen—the Commander of the Lord’s army. Joshua approaches with courage, but the turning point comes when he hears the words:
“Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy” (Joshua 5:15). In that instant, Joshua realizes that overcoming doesn’t begin with battle strategy or human strength. It begins with recognizing God’s presence right where you stand.
