Dear Steven & Kathleen,

In weeks two and three of our sermon series, we turn to Joshua—a leader who teaches us about perspective and overcoming challenges.

God tells Joshua in Joshua 1:9: “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua faced giants, fortified cities, and overwhelming odds, yet his perspective was shaped not by fear but by faith.

Joshua reminds us that courage isn’t the absence of fear—it’s the presence of God. Back in the 1700s, John Wesley, the famous evangelist of yesteryear, once said, “Give me one hundred men who fear nothing but sin and desire nothing but God, and I will shake the world.”

When challenges loom large, Joshua’s story invites us to lift our eyes to the One who fights for us.

Reflection Questions:

  • What challenges are you facing right now that require courage?
  • How does Joshua’s story reshape your perspective on obstacles?
  • Where do you need to trust God’s presence more than your own strength?

I love being your pastor!

Your Friend and His,

Pastor Arthur

Sunday At Hephatha
Join us for worship this Sunday as we continue the sermon series "The Greatest Stories Ever Told". In this series we discover how the ancients' lives still speak into our modern hearts. These are not fairy tales or distant legends; they are real stories of real people who encountered the living God in moments of crisis, courage, and calling. From mountaintop miracles to wilderness wanderings, each story pulses with divine purpose and human emotion. As we journey through these biblical narratives, we'll find that somehow, their stories become our stories. Join us each week as we allow God's Word to shape us, challenge us, and draw us deeper into His redemptive story.

This Sunday's sermon is entitled "Joshua's Story Pt. 1: It's All In How You Look At Things" based on Numbers 13:25–14:9.

Hope you can join us either in person or online!
View the service online on Sundays at 10:15 am on YouTube.
